to all my family, this is an update for October.

I had to be in SLC the second week in October for yearly checkup and ended up having to visit my dentist and get a crown made for one of my molars. So, while Brett and Jennifer were here I got to see them and went with them to downtown SLC and we toured the new Conference Cente and the visitors center on the north side of Temple Square and then to the part of Main street that is now a beautiful garden that is much better than having noisy cars moving through that area, fall colors were in full force in the valley and it was lovely on the Temple grounds.. By that time Brett's kids were tired so we left, they dropped me off at Chad's house and went back to their time share condo in Little Cottonwood canyon. It was great having them here and they all loved the tour of TEmple Square.
I got my crown put in and its just fine. Then last week I went to St. George and spent about a week with Kirt and family and got a visit in with my friend Margarete. I was going to try to refinance my house but it won't happen, restrictions that have come into play in the last few years keep me from using the money from my ex-husband because it's not written into the divorce decree. So, it won't happen, but things can change in the future and right now I'm able to meet my bills and have a little left over.

Today, Monday, I decided to head north again and spend a couple of days here in SLC then go on up to Jeanne's place. ON the way up the road I passed a young man dressed in military fatigues, he was walking up the road. I slowed down and then stopped a ways ahead of him and waited for him to catch up with me. I asked him where he was going and he said Burns, Oregon. He was in Iraq and was a little bit unhappy riding on a bus or plane after he was injured and spent time on transport, bus and plane, to get to the hospital. The weather was getting colder and would be colder the farther north he went. He seemed a nice young man and so I offered him a ride as far as SLC. He was also broke. We visited and I told him about Utah and about some of the towns along the way. When we got to Nephi I started to tell him about how the town got its name. I told him about Lehi and Nephi and Joseph SMith and the pioneers and Johnson's ARmy. It was the first time I have ever done that and I just told him the simple facts like I was reading it from my Primary class earlier this year. He liked the stuff I told him and found it interesting. I took him by the Jordan River Temple, around the grounds and also pointed out the Draper TEmple and the Quirrah Shadows TEmple. Told him how many TEmples, approximately, that we have in the world. He was interested and seemed to enjoy the things I told him. And the kicker is his name is AARon.

None of you have to write back and tell me it's not safe to pick up a hitchhiker, I know, but I have discernment to a point in these matters. If I had not had the strong feeling to give him a ride I would have kept going.

WEll, its been interesting living in a house full of little people, well not all are little but it's still interesting. Emrie sometimes thinks I am her person to follow around, she is now thinking she should wear unders instead of diapers, but she hasn't figured out how to let herself pee in the toilet.
I spent last weekend in Billings Montana to attend the wedding of my friend's the Hammers' daughter's wedding. It was hotter than I thought it would be and missed the cooler air we have here in the Idaho FAlls area. The trip brought back memories of when I lived and worked in West Yellowstone. It's sad to see so many pine trees infested by a pine beatle in the canyon between West and Bozeman, they are in other places also.
The wedding was interesting and I had fun meeting people that love the Hammers.
I will be going to Utah for a doctor's appointment in October and plan to take time to sort through some things at the house. Also, Brett and family will be arriving the 10th and I'll visit with them and probably go on down to St. George for a quick visit before heading back to Idaho.

Idaho

I like living in Idaho, the weather isn't as hot and the nights are mostly around 40-50. Its hard to get used to living in someone else's house, I do enjoy the kids and the people here are really nice. Today I'm going to the Rexburg Temple and then going to the college radio station and spend an hour reading the news to visually impaired and print handicapped. Its a volunteer job but sounds interesting. Its been almost a whole month since I left my home in Kearns and it is strange to have someone else living in my house. Jeremy is really working hard on the yard and it is looking good. He wants to have the back yard safe for his kids and is making a large sandbox area at the end of the patio. If I decide to sell the house I have offered him first shot at it. But don't know when that will be.
My cat has finally gotten brave enough to move through the upstairs part of the house, but only in the early morning when everyone is still asleep and the dog is not around. She did come out into the front room and roam around one day when Jeanne and a couple of her kids were sitting quietly with me. When you see Jeannie's latest blog just remember that she probably took 50 more pictures than that, I haven't even seen them yet, but it was a fun day and the kids want to go back again.

Hi, this gma has done some traveling in the past week. I left last Wednesday and drove to Salt Lake and spent the rest of Wednesday and all of Thursday at her house. I went to the Timpannogas Temple on Friday morning to Alan Vincent's wedding. We had lunch in Murray Park and had a nice visit. I left and headed to St. George. ON Saturday morning I attended the wedding of Taw-nee, daughter of my friend Margarite. It was a nice wedding. I spent the afternoon out in the heat looking at the newest Entrada development. Pretty awesome landscaping, better than most of the developments in the area around St. George. One house had a roadrunner on the lawn enjoying a feast of bugs that were around the pond.
Kirt's kids were all kind of sick, nothing serious. The heat was way too much for me, glad I could stay inside mostly.
I left Monday morning and stayed at Lynette's house over night and this morning I packed as much as I could in my car and brought it back to Ammon with me. I like this cooler weather, only in the low nineties so far.

Hi, I'm using Lauren's computer today, mine is not on line yet. I have been checking out places to rent. I'm going to Shelly, Idaho tomorrow to check out a place, it's not very far south of Idaho Falls. I don't know if i will qualify for a place but we'll see.
the weather here in Ammon is cool, we may get up to 70 today. Next week I have to go back to Kearns and attend a wedding and go on down to St. George to another wedding, I hope its not catching.:) We had to go to the animal shelter and retreive jeanne's cat this morning apparently she(the cat) was trying to get to someone's bird and they trapped her and sent her to jail. Now she is a ex-convict. Emrie plays a game of not looking at me when I talk to her, she turns her head as far around as she can so she can't see me. It's so funny.
My cat has accepted being here now, she won't come out of the bedroom but she is eating and drinking and using the litter box. We were worried about her at first because she wouldn't eat or drink.
Jeremy has already done things to the yard and he found a big canopy for the patio and they had a barbeque on the 4th. I would have liked to have found that canopy and had the money to buy it so we could use the patio in the summer. I'm glad he is able to do the things that needed to be done at the house.

moving is stressful.

I have been working on packing, sorting and stashing stuff for over a month. Today I asked the major mover, Lynette, if she could come over and help me move stuff downstairs for storage for now. Well, she brought Mason and he helped, then Jeremy came home and boy did we move stuff. It was a big help in more ways than one. I have to tell you that moving after being in one place for a long, long time is one big ache to the system, physical and mental. I am very blessed to have good help among my family. Thank all of you for all you have helped me with.

Death in the extended family

Today at 3pm mst, Betty Nuttall passed on to the next life. She was the wife of Ralph Nuttall, son of Ernest and Julia Nuttall, brother to Ruth Nuttal Vincent and Edna Patrick, all deceased.

Lois, called me about 15 minutes after Aunt Betty died. Don't know anything about a funeral yet, it's too soon.
