Just read your lastest entry in the blog area. The pictures are great of the hawk and the snow. I also want to let Ivy know how awesome her project looks, I can see it took a lot of work. I have been typing my Mom's journal this morning, now if I was half the gardner she was my place would be awesome. But I'm not and it isn't.
I have been very low on money this last week or so and ran out of bread, peanut butter and butter, so have had to improvise and acutally cook something. I checked my blood sugar yesterday and it was in a good range although one of my meds is out and can't be refilled until Wednesday. But without all the bread I haven't eaten it worked out okay.
I'll still be the Compassionate Service person even though I'm now a Primary teacher. It doens't take up a lot of time so not a big deal. The Primary is going to be a big deal, the kids are nice and wiggly, which is normal.
Josie and Oliver Price are planning on going on a mission. It is a little delayed because he had to have a shunt put into a blocked artery, but they told him he can go anywhere he can get his medications. They will be great missonaries, and I will miss them a lot.

Monday
Like it says, its Monday and the skies look clear and blue if you don't look lower and see the inversion that we have had for a week and will be hear for the rest of this week. WEll, at least I don't have to shovel it.
Yesterday I was confirmed as a Primary teacher for the 8 year old children. It's been a few years since I taught kids but they are eariser for me than teaching adults. Our Primary isn't very big but we have some new kids that will be joining the older kids in Primary soon and a few new borns joining the throng. I think that I was ready for a new calling in the ward because I wasn't really involved in the adult class and the Family History center was not drawing me because of my involvement in transcribing my Mother's journal.
It makes me realize how much of my mother's life I didn't really know about after I left home at 17 years of age.
Last night was the Jordan River Temple Devotional in the Conference Center. In two years I have never made it to a devotional, because I forget about it mostly. But one of my ward members, Karen, reminded me about it and had an extra ticket and a ride with her and two other ladies. So, I went and it was beautiful. If you don't know how big the conference center is just go and see it and then see that our Temple workers and family and friends didn't even fill the lower level more than half way. And we have lots of Temple workers at the Jordan River Temple. And the choir was also made up of Temple workers. WE will lose 1300 of them to the new Draper Temple in March. Then later this year the other Temple on the southwest side of the valley will be openning.
Last Thursday I was working in the washing, anointng and clothing area and a women was in our booth and she looked familiar and we just thought it was because she had been coming to the temple a lot. Then Friday when I went to the Library to return some books, there she was and she asked me if I was a Temple worker and I said yes and we talked a few minutes. And guess what, Sunday I passed her in the hallway at Church and we laughed about the whole thing.
I talked to my friend, Marguerite on Saturday and she mentioned she had gone to the Temple and was in an endowment session and thought it was boring. She hasn't been in the Temple for a long time. So, I told her to do the washing, anointing and clothing and then go right on to the endowment session and maybe that would help her not be bored. But I think it could be that its been so long since we went last that she can't feel the spirit just now.
Well, thats about it for now, have a good week.

Snow Angels
This evening I heard noise outside and found lovely Young Women making snow angels in the smooth snow on my front yard. They had gone to other houses and done the same for them. They had so much fun, and if I knew how to add the two pictures I took you would see what they did.
The weather report says no snow for the next week. That will be nice, it will give drivers time to get their cars fixed from all the damage some have had on the icy, snowy roads and too fast driving some do. Driving Ed's big Chevrolet truck is really strange and watching the gas gage fall fast makes me glad its not mine. Ed had to go to Arizona to straighten out things with his kids since their mother died a few days ago. The kids are going to stay together in Arizona. The oldest son, he's Ed jr., is 18 yrs old and working. The daughter is still in school and has one more year to go. The child support will be turned over to the kids, Ed just has to do the paper work.
But one thing happened a few months back, the oldest daughter found a way to get in touch with Ed and they have been e-mailing back and forth. The son hasn't been real interested but may come aroung, who knows. And when their mother died they had Ed to call on for help. Makes you think about miracles, doesn't it.
If I have made any mistakes in all this tale, it's not intended. Besides that you all know how my mind forgets things or misses details.

Home again.
I arrived safely at home about 1:45pm today. Roads were all dry and no problems with traffic even though it was kind of busy.
Brett and Jennifer, your Christmas package was here when I got home. Thank you so much for the chocolate and cheese.
I may be good at WII bowling but the game sure makes a person use muscles they haven't used in a while. It is fun and I think great for people who don't exercise regularly, like me.
Emrie is beginning to know me and we had fun with smiles and silly games.
You would get a kick out of watching Liberty play the WII game, especially how she plays tennis, which she is better at than I am.
Happy New Year to all of you. Love Alice

Christmas Surprise
Today a Christmas card came in the mail. It said it was from a friend, included in the card was a cashier's check for $100. I was baffled, who, that I know, would send me a check, and who that I know has money enough to share it. Then the tears came and I felt very blessed to have someone send me such a gift.
So, today I was blessed by someone and they were also blessed because they gave a blessing.
Merry Christmas to all of you who read this blog and know that I can only send my love to all of you. You are all very special to me. Love you all, Leadfoot gma

Ramblings from home
The big bad snow storm is now here. It was frocast and on the way home from the Temple at 11:30 the big black clouds coming down from the north kept moving pretty fast. We had heard that it had already hit Ogden. I saw a big white cloud bank coming around the mountain by Kennecott smelter and by the time I had stopped at the drive up window at Smith's to drop off a c ouple of prescriptions and started home it was starting to snow. I just finished talking to Jeanne and it is snowing pretty hard now. Guess I'd bettter go out and bring in the trash can so it won't get burried.
Jeanne was telling me that I'm always bragging about my family, kids and grandkids but when I talk to you in person I don't express it well and that all of you understand that. Well, I've never been able to find the words to express feelings I don't understand well, but I do hope all of you know how proud I am of all of you, kids and grands. You are totally awesome.
Thats it for now. Love you all. Leadfoot grandma.
